I interviewed Tony at his home on Martha’s Vineyard. I was planning on seeing him in Austin during his book tour, but it got too busy before leaving on a trip.

Such a shock. And way, way too soon. Very sad.
He was a great guy and gave wonderful hospitality during our visit with him at his home.
I exchanged a few emails with him after I read the Confederates book
and before and after I read the John Brown book. I just got his new one.
A loss for all history lovers and anyone who likes good writing.
