I would add that artists and writers need to have a notebook by their bedside. I get my best ideas in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep until I have written them down.
The only problem is (as I am now experiencing out while looking at my notes from last night) is to decipher my scribbles written down in the dark.
I’ve experienced the same sort of thing on many occasions!
