I attended a Joan Baez concert in Santa Monica in the 60’s. Her voice, of course, was beautiful. However, she was the coldest performer I had ever heard. Her only interaction with the audience was to occasionally insult us. She impressed me at the time as one of those people who love humanity but hate people.
I am glad to see that later in life she has been transformed, perhaps partially through her visit overseas as you were.
Interesting. Perhaps she was genuinely humbled by what she heard and then saw firsthand over there. We both agree that her music is terrific!
