Fascinating, at least to book lover like myself. I enjoyed it especially since the narrator was so fond of P. G. Wodehouse, and I just finished reading another novel by him. I was a little jealous, however, since my one stay in England only yielded one book purchase after roaming around dozens of shops in Wales and London. He must know where to look better than I did.
