RESPONDING TO WAYNE GRUDEM<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;IS VOTING FOR TRUMP A \u201cMORALLY GOOD CHOICE\u201d?  RESPONDING TO WAYNE GRUDEM&#8221; &#8212; Moore Engaging\" src=\"https:\/\/www.twocities.org\/?p=6357&#038;embed=true#?secret=Zd0gKrT5Zp#?secret=ufeMrAeYm2\" data-secret=\"ufeMrAeYm2\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>I did not vote during the 2016 election when it comes to president.\u00a0 For everyone else, I cast a vote.\u00a0 And I still stand by that decision.\u00a0 And yes, I think it was my patriotic duty to not vote.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But things can change&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I regularly preach (really I teach it) that true education is many things, but one thing for sure: painful.\u00a0 The ancient Greeks had a name for it: <em>mathein pathein<\/em>.\u00a0 &#8220;To learn is to suffer.&#8221;\u00a0 If you are truly learning, you have to face deficient views\/ideas you previously believed. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do I think my previous thoughts on Trump deficient?\u00a0 Largely, I do not, especially because I was addressing some <em>specific<\/em> areas of concern and those have not changed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And yet, I want to remain open to new dynamics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;m still not sure what I will do in the upcoming election, but this is the best piece that is causing me to consider Trump:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2020\/02\/2020-election-religious-conservatives-trump-voters\/\">https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2020\/02\/2020-election-religious-conservatives-trump-voters\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HT: To Roger Berry for the picture.\u00a0 I am writing a book with Professor Michael Haykin on Ralph Waldo Emerson.\u00a0 It seems the president likes Emerson.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think it is quite accurate to say, &#8220;I love Emerson,&#8221; but he has been a very productive conversation partner.
