{"id":6752,"date":"2017-01-24T00:00:42","date_gmt":"2017-01-24T06:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.twocities.org\/?p=6752"},"modified":"2017-01-22T20:28:20","modified_gmt":"2017-01-23T02:28:20","slug":"trump-inaugural-speech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.twocities.org\/?p=6752","title":{"rendered":"TRUMP INAUGURAL SPEECH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>There are many things that certainly could be debated about what was said in Trump&#8217;s speech.\u00a0 One is not debatable, at least among Christians.\u00a0 Trump mentioned that God <em>will<\/em> protect us.\u00a0 Yes, we should pray for God&#8217;s protection, but we can&#8217;t simply invoke that God will protect us.\u00a0 Did God protect us on 9\/11?\u00a0 If the answer is yes, then what does protection mean?\u00a0 If the answer is no, then how can we be confident God will protect us now?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Many Christians are in great need of a slower read through the book of Jeremiah.\u00a0 We are not Israel (or Judah) to be sure which actually makes the point above.
