{"id":4537,"date":"2014-08-27T00:00:23","date_gmt":"2014-08-27T05:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.twocities.org\/?p=4537"},"modified":"2014-08-26T22:54:25","modified_gmt":"2014-08-27T03:54:25","slug":"hard-to-understand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.twocities.org\/?p=4537","title":{"rendered":"HARD TO UNDERSTAND"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"irc_mi\" style=\"margin-top: 60px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i.telegraph.co.uk\/multimedia\/archive\/01662\/Fabio_Capello_1662310c.jpg\" width=\"436\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Complexity and difficulties are very challenging for some people to appreciate.\u00a0 Take the person who studies mechanical engineering in college, lands a great job, works at it for forty years, and then retires with a nice nest egg.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now take the person who studies art history in college.\u00a0 Museum jobs are few and far between.\u00a0 Teaching jobs even less so.\u00a0 She makes ends meet by working in a restaurant and being a security guard at night.\u00a0 Our art historian can understand how some people are able to rather easily find employment, but our engineer has a tougher time understanding why the art historian can&#8217;t find gainful employment.\u00a0 All this leads to an interesting dynamic at play.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If your life has been a pretty simple A leads to B kind of existence, it is easy to assume that this is how life is suppose to work.\u00a0 When it does not happen for certain people like the art historian, we like our engineer friend may be tempted to conclude that some mistakes were made along the way. \u00a0We might speculate that our art historian was not a good student or perhaps is not very good with people.\u00a0 It baffles those of us who have this A leads to B notion to find out our art historian made stellar grades, won various academic honors, and has many friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>How do we process all that? \u00a0How we do will tell us much about ourselves, but probably more about God.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Complexity and difficulties are very challenging for some people to appreciate.\u00a0 Take the person who studies mechanical engineering in college, lands a great job, works at it for forty years, and then retires with a nice nest egg.
